Mood Board -

We created a mood board which we designed to include various different themes and idea's from the thriller genre. These themes include common conventions of the thriller genre such as idea's of low key lighting and mystery. The idea of the eye in on this board is to connote the sense of paranoia which our main character is feeling, and the idea of him not feeling safe within himself. The idea of the lonely isolated house is a metaphor for his internal self and how he is feeling, which also connotes darkness and isolation, as well as denoting a eerie setting in which we can work with. The gun connotes danger in is seen in almost all thriller film trailers we watched such as Se7en, the girl with the dragon tattoo and silence of the lambs. The idea of inception, seen at the bottom of the mood board is associated with the idea of cognitive thinking, and how psychological factors effects people. This links in nicely with our main character who is suffering mental deterioration and going through tough times. Police always play an influential role in most thrillers, whether for good or bad reasons so we also decided to include this.
